Exclamation No power whatsoever.

I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with a 4.7 V8. The problem I have is that there is no power at all. the battery is good (12VDC is Present). There is no lights, no interior lights, no headlights, no 4 way flashers, door locks don't lock, windows don't go down, instrument panel lights don't come on when the ignition key is turned to the "On" position. I would appreciate any help on this issue.

This is the XJ forum so I'd suggest checking the WJ forum

I'd suggest checking all fuses, relays and grounds first.

As simple as it sounds, the most common cause of this condition is poor connections at the battery terminals.

Second common cause is a bad connection between the battery and the power distribution center (fusebox under the hood). Typically a main positive line runs from the battery positive terminal through a special connection that powers everything within the power distribution center.

Third common cause is a failed ignition switch or ignition switch connector. However, some components are not dependent on the ignition switch. Such as radio clock, brake lights, head lights. So even a failed ignition switch will leave several things working.

Relays and fuses won't typically cause a total loss of electrical power.
