So heres where i am at. The wires are finished! Tomorrow ill be throwing in what i can figure out... =P

Here is the first one i did with the hole punch and the hammer and solder. Solder leaked out the holes and the torch created corrosion. I cleaned it up though in the end.

Not a clue. Maybe the gas wasnt burning cleanly? Either way i had to scrub the crap out of it to get it shiny and get all the black/green/brown stuff off.

i prefer the fusible link into the cabin as it allows normal power fluctuations without blowing, and then protects me from large power spikes. Plus, they are cheap, available everywhere and are easy to replace.

Maxi fuses do the same job on modern vehicles as the fusible link did in the past. They are slow blow rated.

Looks pretty good Crimy! Don't forget you can slide multiple sizes of shrink tubing up the wire first, then slide them back down, (the smaller inner first of course), then heat to shrink-fit.

What size socket for the ground strap nut on the rear driver side of the valve cover? I coulda swore ive taken this off before but my 15mm socket and the 11/16 socket arent fitting. I was getting really tired and hot so i came in to take a break before i get pissed off and pull out the axe and fix it the angry way.

Ok 3/4" fit around it but loosely but that socket is from the 50s so it may be worn or casted differently back then. Ive got another 3/4 inch but its a 12 point socket. I soaked the crap out of it with pb blaster and am letting it sit. It didnt budge witht he 3/4 inch i bent the upper lip of the body on accident trying to get the bolt to turn. I guess ive never taken this one off its on there and its on there good. >.< I got the bad ground wire changed cleaned off the ground stud and drenched it in noalox. The wire was way worse than i thought it was. All of the casing was split or missing in various parts and all of the wire was green and corroded. So a new wire there will probably help alot since it is the main ground coming off the battery.

So i still couldnt get it off. The 12 point one was even worse. 3/4" seems to be too big. and im far too hot and tired to continue today. I replaced that one main ground wire and i put everything back together so i could move the jeep out of the church parking lot. And it seems to be idling much much better now. It still stumbles a bit when the catalytic converter rattles because its probably plugged up and slagged. But i floored it and did a burnout. Its never had that much power before in the time that ive owned it. So that one wire made a huge difference.

Leave it and run your ground from the firewall to one of the bolts holding the fuel rail to the manifold instead.
