Jeep died on wife last week said it had no power to go all lights on dash were coming on an off radio was pulsating
It died at a red light she got it started an off the road an rollbacked home. Fast forward 2 weeks i get home from work an just buy a new alt. old one tested junk put new on take bat off charge install an presto nothing at all dead dead!! Hook jumpers up an it arcks like a 6018 welding rod
Take battery out hook jumpers up to terminals from wifes van still arcking hard but did draw her van down when it did it all big fuses under hood are fine im soo freakin lost any help please

sounds like a BIG short. Maybe look at the starter, and or battery cables and such.

 

Recently I had a battery go dead from a light on. Could not jump start
without sparks all over. Trying to charge the battery made the charge act crazy until finally it started to charge. I have seen batteries charge backwards also, reverse polarity...
Low battery will make a lot of things go wacky also..

 

all the arcing could have been caused by having some broken plates in the battery. Had that happen once battery wouldn't take a charge but showed charged arced everywhere no start. when I did get it started battery BLEW UP......just sayin.
