Hello, I got a 2000 xj and in the middle of doing a h4 conversion with harness when I lost my bright lights, I replaced the headlight switch and turn signal and I finally got driver side bright to work. I checked the fuses that are post to be for the headlights and it's not getting power when brights are turned on. I even disconnected the aftermarket harness and still nothing. Thanks for any help!!

I ran into a similar situation when installing the Putco harness and I traced it to a broken wire inside/behind the OEM connector on the passenger side headlight. It took me a good while to isolate the issue because it acted intermittently first. Apparently the wire inside the connector was brittle due to age and one of the wire connections broke off as I pulled the old connector out from behind the headlight. Both headlights stop working since the new harness feeds both headlights off the old passenger side connector.

I had this problem this week with the temperature near 0°F. The brights started working normally again after the engine bay had more time to warm up. I think it's the relays. Other reviewers say the quality of the relays that come with the Putco harness isn't very good.
