Default No Overdrive

I have an 98 cherokee classic. Like the title reads, I have no O/D. Took it to advanced last week, they cleared codes, and it was shifting fine the whole way home. Shut it off and now its back to no O/D. Went to Aamco today, and they said I need trans range sensor, and showed me pic, looked like a Neutral Safety Switch(kinda like a baseball diamond). They wanted like 450 for parts and labor...no way. Is this the same part? I see where most have just cleaned it and that cleared it up...I was told I have the Toyota trans in mine.

Thanks

Josh

Yes: it can be removed and cleaned, then it will need to be adjusted proper when you reinstall it.
Do your backup lights work correct ?

It mean that the NSS may just need adjusted.
This is done by loosening the 12mm bolt on the NSS and rotating it to the proper position
