Default no oil pressure after oil change

my oil pressure gauge as always worked but after my last oil change it starts and works fine for about 3 minutes, then cuts all the way down and the check engine light comes on. the only difference between this oil change and my last 5 or so is that i used a mobile 1 oil filter instead of a fram. any thoughts?

Check the connector to the sending unit. Its near the filter and you might have accidentally knocked it loose. Swapping from Fram should be an improvement.

Can you give a better explanation? What does "cuts all the way down" mean? Is it your check enginelight, or check gauges? If your OP is dropping, you need to put a mechanical gauge on and verify.

Hearing any odd internal engine noises as the pressure drops? If so and since all you did was swap filters I'd pull it and try another. If no noises it could be the sending unit.

Did the old O ring come off with the FRAM? A Mobil1 filter doesnt do well with double O rings

Ya I checked to make sure the oil ring came off from the fram. No strange noises. I'll double check the sending unit

you put the plug back in?

Once the sender quits working, its usually done for good. All other guages working?

If you can't see an obvious problem with the sending unit, get a mechanical gauge to screw into it instead so that you can actually see if there is oil pressure.

FYI, my sending unit cracked in half not too long ago, so it's not uncommon.
