Default No noise when turning key, but the battery is on?

Today when I got in my car after the gym my 2000 Jeep Cherokee wouldnt start. When I turned the key, the only thing that happened was the battery powered everything like normal; my radio turned on; my gauges started to work; i could turn on the dome lights and headlights, but the car wouldnt make a decibel of noise. I didnt hear the starer click or anything, just complete silence (besides the radio turning on). I took the car out and put it back to try a couple times but the same thing for about 4 tries. i let it sit for 10 seconds and tried again and it finally worked. What do you think this could be?

Try starting it in neutral. If it start could be your NSS.
