What sort of noid light was that anyway? Don't forget the books are wrong. #1 is at 5:00 viewed from the side. 153624. Of course if it runs that is not the issue.

it was just a typical test light injectors have power now plugs are wet. and im not sure what (#one is at 5:00) means. map looks like it was spliced in theres two holes in the throttle body for vacumes but theres only one house and it goes to the map. shes so close and i need her before the weekend as the snow will be here.

IIRC it's the lower of the two holes. I'd need to go out and look to be sure. It's really important the MAP gets manifold vacuum. Really important. You can give it intake manifold vacuum from anywhere on the intake, just be sure to plug the hole in the TB if it's not coming from there.

On the cap, viewed from the side #1 is at the 5:00 position. The book is wrong. The yellow deal is on #1 in this pic. 153524, closkwise.

Now that the vacuum line is fixed, try starting it. Before you start slapping parts at it.

That might be a light that comes on at 60,000 miles suggesting to change the 02 sensor?

To the best of my knowledge the 02 won't make if flood/rich. My 90 ran with it stone dead. Bad mileage, but it ran fine.

I'd double check that line and the power and ground to the Map...at least.

I'll hold off giving info indexing the dizy. Two things though. You can find the compression stroke by rotating the engine clockwise as viewed from the front, via the 19mm-3/4 crank pulley bolt, and feeling for compression on #1 plug hole with your finger. Then the timing mark goes on "O"

You set the dizy with the rotor around 4:00, then it turns/seats with the rotor just passing the #1 terminal. (it's ahead like that so when the computer advances the spark, it can still reach the terminal.

Hope the one you swapped in was from an 87-90. 91 on, is different.

Definitely a run rich problem there...
For the info you can use a MAP off of a chevy 350 from the 90s'
Just to see if you may be feeding exhaust gas back in on fire up, have you checked if your EGR is working it could be stuck open? And did you clean your plugs when you pulled them?

There was a poster, CPTSlackass. He had on odd issue. Although his coolant temp sensor tested OK, his Jeep would not run unless he unplugged it. I'm not sure if he was lean or flooding though. Later it turned out mice had chewed the wires.

If the MAP was right and the distributor is right with a crisp, blue, spark, that CTS might be something to look at. In my case a bad 02 sensor didn't make it flood out. I'm not positive if one CAN, or not though.
