Default No Heat - It's Winter - Help!

Hey guys, looking for some help here.
I purchased a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4WD about 4 monthsago and since then have brought it up to legal inspection standards- itoperates great. The only consistent problem I’ve had is the heat. It just doesn’tproduce any. The hottest it gets is maybe 55-60 degrees (MAX) and that’s on awarmer day. Now it’s winter time and it’s getting colder and colder and I’mscrambling for some assistance.
Back in September, I flushed the heater core, it was cloggedwith stop leak and other gunk. It was deemed clean after it consistently kept aflow of clear water through transparent hoses for 10 minutes after backflushing multiple times. There was still no heat after this.
I then had the cooling system flushed and filled withanti-freeze, and still, no heat.
Then last weekend, I spent 4-5 hours getting into the blenddoor duct behind the glove box, replacing the factory plastic door with anaftermarket metal one from heatertreater.net and sealed it back up, again, stillno hot air. There wasn’t even hot air blowing out of the cut hole after Iturned the **** to hot. The engine had been running close to 15 minutes. Yes theactuator motor works just fine.
What am I missing here? I have a bad feeling the heater coreis bad but I see none of the signs except no hot air. The blower fan is fineand the temperature is regulated fine. I smell no sweet odors from theventilation system inside nor is there a puddle on the floor or any leaksvisible. I’m hoping there is something else… any suggestions, advice, opinions? All are welcome.

Thank you

Are the hoses to the firewall hot to touch?

When you flushed the heater core did you actually remove it or did it under the hood via the hoses? I am thinking although there is free flow through the interior that maybe the fins are clogged and the blower can not force air through the core to pick up the heat.

Edit: When a vehicle sits unused for a long time critters tend to get in everywhere bringing their nests, food etc.

sure the water pump is good?

my sons xj had the same issue.. engine temps were fine but no heat. the thing ran cool all summer 100* days and all. come winter time at 20* it started over heating out of the blue. ended up being the water pump impeller was rotted to nothing.

looked like this one when we pulled it out..not sure how much was still there to keep it cool during the summer but that sure didn't happen over night..lol
