I have a 99 jeep Cherokee sport. The heat worked fine and then sat for a year. The heat no longer works and havecflushed it twice, the hoses to and from heater core are hot, there is no obstruction from the water pump or water heater. What else could it be??

If your coolant level is where it's supposed to be, you may have an inoperative or stuck blend door.

It's in your heater box between the instrument panel and the firewall. The heater box is attached to the firewall. It pretty much runs along the passenger side behind and below the glove box.

The steering column has to be dropped, and the console and dash have to come out to get to it. A/C has to be discharged.

You might try starting the Jeep and cycling through all the modes, one at a time, slowly, several times, to see if you can free up the door.

Wasps or bees could have built a nest in there and blocked the door from moving while it was sitting up.

If you want to look at your blend door operation, set your vent settings to feet only and then look through the vent on the floor. You will be able to directly see into the HVAC casing and see the blend door moving. (Not a full sweep but at least youll see if it seals to the heater side.)
