Those cup holders that mount to the console by the ebrake just plain suck...They don't hold any decent sized cup and not even a 20 oz bottle of coke and are a complete waste of money.

I have one that mounts on the center console over by the passenger foot well. It seems to work pretty good, I'll get a shot of it tomorrow. Not sure where it came from.

my 94 sport came with cup holders and i hate them, but mine are broken. they're mounted right by that space in between the passenger seat and the dash... kinda hard to explain? if you got solid ones they would probably work alot better than mine.

I use the ones that advanced auto sells for $1.99 and clip on the butterfly window near the front. They slide in betwen the rubber and the door...Tj

That's the OE one. There's a little slot it goes in on the console and then it clips to the bottom edge of the console. Every time my wife would get out of the Jeep, she'd manage to knock it off somehow.
In '92 cupholders were a "new thing" - that design always seemed like a cobbled-together afterthought to me.

There was no mention by the OP if was even equiped with a center console...

Mine was not... but I discovered a free mod one day when I stopped to pickup dinner from a fast food establishment for the family one evening. Being alone I had noone to carry the drinks so I requested a drink holder. Well I had no good place to sit the holder so that the whole thing wouldnt tip over... UNTIL.. I noticed the area below the parking brake lever, between the parking brake and the shifter, and between the front seats is relatively flat...

The holder fit snuggly between the seats and when the parking brake is down it actually holds the drink holder in place. Eventually the cardboard material will wear out, but I use it to hold 44oz drinks (from 7-11 with the narrower bottoms) with no problem.

But be aware.. not all holders are created equal... Mine has become slightly worn out and one day decided to pick up a new one. Well it didnt hold the drinks as well and the first time I used it the drink spilled. So I went back to the old one until I can get one from another fast food place.

It may look funny but it works and best of all, it was FREE.

Good price prerunner.
It got me to wondering how many Jeeps are devoid of a center console and where you put the junk that has accumulated in mine. I have my camera and my required papers (insurance and registration) plus a couple of napkins for on the way emergencies and my tire guage plus a couple of CDs still in their cases etc...
