No Crank, no start

Default No Crank, no start

i have a 99 XJ i had a no crank no start one morning i replaced the battery all power is on but still no crank or start?

any tips are really helpful

check ll you connections make sure they are tight--battery, grounds, starter.......might be starter. You can tap on the side of the starter to try and get it to engage.

I also heard of a neutral safety switch problem. It's connected to the shifter (I think)

Is it an auto? Jiggle the shifter while you have the key turned. Might be the neutral safety switch.

You definitely want to check your NSS if its an auto. There are some good write ups here on how to rebuild it. It is about $200 new if it is too far gone.
