no compression

What is possible cause for no compression cyl, 1 and 2. 1997 XJ 4.0 running smooth engine started misfiring checked compression none in cyl 1 and 2

if both went at the same time, I would guess the head gasket between them went

I agree. A blown head gasket is the likely cause.

What is the compression on the other 4 cylinders?

Either that or a cracked head right between the cylinders.

I have to chek out when I get It home and get more data Thanks I bought this with Idea of putting engine out my wrecked 93 into but if it is the head gasket and the other cylinders have decent pressures I will use this engine. and keep my other one as a spare and just move the dif.and lift over from my totaled 93 xj .
