Hello All,
Long time reader of the forum, but first time poster. I have a 2001 XJ with the dreaded No Bus message one the gauge cluster. I have done a lot of internet research and have concluded that I need to replace the connectors that the gauge cluster plugs into. This is known as the Cluster connector patch harness, Mopar Part # 05016261AA. I have learned that Chrysler obseleted this part in the fall of 2019 and my local dealer cannot get it or find any dealer that has one in stock. So....does any one know where I might find one (no luck on Ebay) of is there an alternative. Thanks for any help you might send my way!

Thanks for the link, most of those things I have already tried, but there are one or two things that might help.

Is the battery fully charged? Are the cables clean and tight? Have you serviced the engine grounds lately? All of that matters.
The BUS is a network. There are multiple modules, sensors, and wiring that tie it all together. This includes the engine grounds. A hiccup in any one of them will take the bus down.

Yes the battery is good as are all of the grounds that I could find. Many have been replaced with heavy wire and new terminals by the previous owner. I found 2 pins in the C1 plug that were loose and I put a wedge in them to make them tight, but that didn't help. I have purchased a new (to me) gauge cluster from CoPart, it should be here in a couple of days. I am not confident that this will solve my problem, but I am trying to eliminate one thing at a time
Well I have had the new gauge cluster in for about two weeks now and it seems to be working fine. It seems to me that I have read dozens of posts in here and other forums about the no bus message and I don't remember any saying just replace the cluster. Lots of plug replacement and check the grounds replies, and some describing other problems that were solved with a replacement cluster, but none that tied the cluster directly with the no bus message. Anyway it seems to be fixed. This XJ has approximately 190,000 miles. The replacement cluster came from a Jeep with 80,000 miles so hopefully it will last a while.
