rickythedragon...The problem I address in this post is ALL guages not working along with "NO BUS" on the odometer and the airbag light on. I think you may have an issue with the wrong year computer.
That's what I was thinking too. For now I believe I will just install a mechanical gauge to monitor my oil pressure till I can find another computer at the junk yard for a 97.

I have been having this problem of my gauges dropping since I bought my xj about 6 months ago. A good smack of the dash offten temporarily fixes the problem lol, but this seems like a better fix. however, not saying its not there, but I haven't noticed the "NO BUS" readout.
Are there a part numbers or should I search on here for them .
Thanks ahead for this knowledge .

Ok finally messed with it today , all I did was removed the gauge pod , inspected and replaced the pod and while replacing I just wiggled it around and unplugged it a couple of times and replaced wiggling some more with a generous amount of dielectric grease on the pins .
The grease I used says it helps prevent corrosion .
So far so good , about twenty miles and still working , just have to wait now and see how long it will last .
