no 4wd since lift

Default no 4wd since lift

well my friend went up about 7ins and after the lift it wont go into 4x4. the handle feels just like it did before it even goes into low range. so y wont the front wheels engage?

Was a transfer case drop kit installed?

Check the tcase linkage for binding. Does it have the vac disco front axle?

not too sure but i am pretty sure it does.. if i was to shift it into 4low it goes into low range just the front tires are not spinning

Ya did the vacum lines get pulled off?It sounds like the actuator on the axle is not working like it should.

That's what I'm thinking Mike. A lift that high would certainly put a stretch on them.

most likely nothing else,I have an 87 with the same front end vacum control thingy witch by the way sucks my TC would go into low or high but my font axle wouldn't spin.The actuator was bad so I put a cable system on it,got rid of the vacum thingy,(shift motor)

If the vac lines are connected and not broken, then it only leaves the vac shift motor or the tcase.

I rigged mine with washers to keep it locked in place.

One of the things I noticed with the 6" lift was the vacuum harness was not long enough. It would come off. So I had to extend it. Check the connections.
