I used to use the speedometer but now rely upon my GPS to get acurate miles and the gas is easy to figure if you let the pump stop at the first cutoff and don't try to top it off. Mileage divided by number of gallons = MPG

my 94 has cupholders its a removable piece that goes over the parking brake and a tab under the center console cover to hold it in place. looks like it came from the factory.

the only thing i hate about mine is that i havent gotten it registered yet.

i have a 6 inch lift, and 33 inch tires plus the mods to the fuel delivery system. it is running a little rich but not enough to account for the mileage. i figured my mileage as stated above, however it could be flawed due to oversized tires and not regearing speedo cable. but i drive 13 miles to work one way and spend roughly 35 to 40 dollars in a 3 day work week. OUCH, never thought about it like that before. abd btw i have 2 really nice cup holders. I also hate the fact that i have front end damage due to an unfortunate meeting with a deer about 2 weeks after i got my XJ.

Love my '84 as it's almost an antique and it runs good.
Hate it due to the frame and floorpan rust. I was leaning into the back yesterday digging for a socket in my toolbox and the heel of my hand "Crunched" through the rear floor. I could actually feel the rust flakes. Imagine carpet on corn flakes. yay.

BTW. The 4Cyl gets the same MPG as the 6 too. In fact mine is a tad worse as you need to drive around floored to keep up with the traffic flow sometimes.

Well...I have a hate story to add. Pennsylvania State Inspection! Sheesh. Rear brake shoes, RR wheel cylinder, new muffler, and a washer pump-did you know that the rear washer pump needs to be working for SI? Ridiculous. Not to mention our oil pressure problem is the sending unit. Hefty bill but still not bad considering we paid very minimal for it. Don't mind dropping a few hundred into to get it running well and safe. Oh well.

Looks factory UNTIL you have to use the e-brake...then it looks like shattered plastic.

I have a 97 sport, with about 140,000 miles on it. As long as you take care of it, it will last forever! I love mine sooo much, i get about 18 mpg. I was going to lift it, but i really do enjoy the 18mpg lol. I even cry when i see some idiot come zooming into a parking lot, and park right next to me without even looking.. lol, maybe im a little obsessive....

Default love story

Hi new to the forum. Gotta love a Jeep, Was able to go PUll the family out of the October surprise storm a few years back.(Oct surprise. look it up). Any ways been in love with it ever since. Its a stock 2001 sport. Had her for years now, maint was minimal, tho Im puttin some bucks into her now(Just dont want to see her go).Got my eye on the new 4dr Rubicon, but the price tag and letting go of a solid cherokee makes me think again.

Just bought a '95 XJ for my wife to drive around town; Needs a ton of honey-dos as the rubber is all dry-rotted, etc.

But the love story has to do with going out with my two teenaged daughters and having both of them take turns "wheeling" for the first time ever on a Class "B" road south of town. I'm a military contractor/reservist, and between deployments and being away for my work, I don't get a ton of time to spend with my kids, and we've discovered something we all love to do, together.

It makes me actually look fondly on that oil spot it leaves on my driveway.

What do i love about my 87 Cherokee? well it came with the cup holders so im happy about that and the engine is reliable as anything you will find even with the oil leak that i have its 21 years old and it start up every day. My only dislike is the fact that i have a renix era jeep. It really needs heavier gauge wiring and a better ground cable.
