Quote: Wow thank you so much for the replies and tips guys, I called the body shop this morning and asked them if we can get to a lower price if i did the prep work and most of the things @LACK said to do but they said even then I would be looking at 350-400$ range.
@freegdr unfortunatly that kit is now out of stock but ill keep my eyes open, thank you for the tip on the hinge but I i'd like to keep it stock for as long as possible, if it escalates to it i'll use your technic for the hinge.
You have the newer body style cutting hinge applies to 95 and down. Have you had someone lift door when open and see where play is yet. Dorman parts can be had at any Auto parts store.

$500? That's a lot!
My local muffler shop charge me $90 for repair mine, granted i have to take it with door and fender removed. Also the guy welded a 1/4 bolt as a hinge pin. Im still need to buy a new door check thought.

@freegdr when I lift the door with my hand it seems that the the only moving part is the pin moving in the sleeve. Should I still bother welding that part attached to the body?

I was thinking it, but you said it. You are harsh. Those welds are terrible looking, but it should hold.

The aquarium is quite nice. They have a tank of sting rays you can pet. My daughter loves it.

If he were a hobbyist, I would not have said anything. He's presenting himself as a professional welder, and taking money for it.

What I said was not harsh. I would have been justified in using words like, "fraud", "con artist", or "criminal".
