Newbie Lift Questions
I have a 1996 XJ Country 4.0 Auto with 4X4. I am planning on doing a small lift on the cheap. What do you suggest? I am thinking 3". Will I be able to do this or is it harder than I am thinking?

Couple things:
1. You do get what you pay for so be careful and do your homework. I'm running Rusty's 3" spring pack and love it. No issues at all. Others will tell you to go with Rough Country (RC). Others will tell you Rubicon Express (RE). Others will tell you other lift companies. Biggest thing - do your homework and go with what you want and what you can afford. If it means saving up a little longer, do it and be happy with what you buy.
2. If you have some simple mechanical skills you can do it yourself. Although, it is nice having someone there to help that has installed a lift before.
3. Add-a-leafs (AAL) are cheaper than full spring packs (SP), but they also tend to sag earlier. Not all do, but it is a tendency they have.
Personally, I would recommend Rusty's 3" SP kit. It's a good quality lift for not that much money. Customer service is good, shipping is a little expensive, but overall it's a good deal. Plus, if you decide to go bigger later on, it's very easy to add to with shackles and spacers.

Blah blah
Top of the line, rubicon. Bottom rough country, it just depends on what you wanna spend/ and what u want it to do. Personally I'm running a little of rubicon, and rustys. I also ran the procomp 3000 shocks. Seem to work great for the price.
