newbie diff question

Default newbie diff question

Need help identifying these different could not find any numbers in the rear, its either a Dana 35 or a Chrysler, other front I'm almost certain is a Dana, do they mix a Dana front end with a Chrysler rearend

Front is a Dana 30 (for the front only).

Rear is a Chrysler 8.25

what are the odds the rear is posi?
how do I figure out the gear ratios?

hold the brake slightly and start giving it gas!

and that tag you took a picture of says 3.55

and for the love of PETE!!! change out that diff cover gasket!!!

Might want to make sure the vent is clear. Looks like 55 at the top left corner of the flat tag.

Burnout.. 1 or 2 tire marks says open or trac lok... I was being sarcastic

Zoominf into your tag i see 3.55... Thats where the gear ratio on the tag should be

Any way to tell if the 8.25 is posi from this pic? what fluid do you guys recommend, ? Lastly advance auto parts doesn't list a gasket for the front axle, just rtv it??
