A new strain of jeep disease!
events leading up to now....
-played in the mud
-2 days later took a corner and heard clicking
-yesterday jacked up the front of my car and checked my u joints and then washed my car (i sprayed the mud off my engine too)
-lowered my car
-started it up and was grinding/vibrating (it felt like it was under my feet somewhere)
-drove around the block to make sure it still drove, success
-today was driving to buy new u-joints and car lurched mildly 3-4 times in a matter of 2-3 seconds (as if having trouble shifting)
-on my way home lurches mildly again and check engine light comes on
-i get a code reader and get the code p0700 (which tells me it is tranny related)
it seems to drive fine and it starts perfect. i'm thinking the possibilities are bad tranny fluid or metal in my tranny or loose tcase chain.
what do you fellow jeepers think, i need an answer fast i have a date soon (like days not hours) and my car has to work!
thanks in advance brethren!

My jeep had the simalar problem. It lunged foward at stops in drive and in park or neutral it would rev up then drop. I also had a check engine light on. I don't remeber the code but it was for a throttle position sensor so I replaced it and it ran fine. The tp sensors are very sensitive to water so when you cleaned your engine water probably got in it ans shorted it or something. Id try replacing that.
