Hey peoples, so I just installed an aftermarket radio and its giving me problems. When you crank it up the bass seems to draw too much power and dims the screen, and it will also cut out the radio signal at the same time (its got a little light that will stay steady for a good signal and either flicker or go out for a low or no signal).
Now this is confusing me since to my knowledge radios couldn't draw that much power. and that only highpowered amplifiers would ever have a need for a capacitor.
So I was just wondering what you guys thought could be the issue before I start ripping it apart

I got the harness, I had to rig up the one in my old XJ and it was a mess (the PO already had a radio rigged up to the connectors weren't there) I'm happy this one still had the stock radio

did you ground it ? was it a wire or a strap with a flat connector on the end? cause if you got a bad ground it could be shorting it out or a short somewhere that`s what i think or an open wire somewhere than is touching the body of the radio

I hope thats the problem
