Default New owner with a few questions

I am new to this forum and recently for my birthday my father gave me a 1991 Jeep Cherokee for my birthday and so far I am having lots of fun driving it. I want to know this Cherokee in and out and I just recently got a Haynes book on fixing Cherokee models. I was wondering if there is any links or any other helpful information that I could get in regards to basic maintenance and anything worthwhile? The Jeep has 120,000 miles on it, it's automatic, and it's a 4.0 Liter engine. Anything useful or necessary would be absolutely helpful!

Welcome, and it sounds like you have a nice Jeep there!! Your question is quite broad...and will be a windy answer. Do some digging around here...there are literally thousands of threads that will help you. The manual is a great start, and the XJ is pretty simple to work on.

Welcome! I joined this forum a little while ago too and am learning each repair as it becomes necessary. The awesome folk on this forum have made it way easier and more fun! I swear if it hadn't been for the wealth of knowledge and helpful people on here, I'd have traded my tools for dynamite long ago! The search function takes a little practice but it's amazing what you can find on here when you need it - or when you're just looking for ideas/projects.

Happy Birthday indeed!

Welcome.

Haynes manual is a good start but you might want to get a FSM (factory service manual) and maybe High-performance Jeep Cherokee XJ Builder's Guide (if you plan on doing mod to your jeep).

Btw, first thing i would do when i get an XJ is this.

GL.
