I have a 1998 jeep cherokee,,, i lost fire so i put a new coil, then a new PCM on it,and fixed the problem... Then the oil light came on,,,i put a new sending unit on it, NO GOOD,, i had to have the PCM flashed at the chrysler place, and they said oil sending unit was bad,, so i put another unit on the truck but the light is still on[[[[ i put a external guage on it and i got 40 lbs oil pressure at idle and 70 driving..I tried to see if it was a bad ground on the plug, put a wire to it down to the frame and the light goes off for 2 sec. then comes right back on,, BUT if i take that same wire and run it through a mutimeter to the frame the light goes of and stays off,,, WHAT THE @#$$%% PLZ HELP

 

take the sender wire off and put a meter on it and them on the body and firewall...the OP switch grounds out

 

So u r saying to take the other wire[HOT WIRE] off the sending unit plug and ground it too ,,,to make the light go off??? Im Trying to sell it, just want the light off, lol

 

no you need to see if any of the wires have continuity with the frame...like you have a wire somewhere that is grounding out or broken.

 

Oh ok i have done that, none that i can find...Thanks for trying to help,, if u think of something else let me know.
