I'm new to the jeep community. my concern is regarding the sound my jeep makes in motion. at first i thought it was the new tires put on the jeep, my buddy is an avid jeep driver/user/mechanic; he seems to think its minor, however its getting louder and perhaps worse. it sounds like a "weening" sound and gets even louder after 30mph and i let off the foot feed...what is it?

 

is your jeep stock, lifted?

 

Welcome... it could be alot of diferant things... wheel bearings.. tires... transmission.... transfercase ....u joints..try to locate the noise.. exaclly were its coming from...Obviously ... if you hear it at all 4 corners.. its tires... :}

 

i've diagnosed it, but only a little bit. i'm very busy and have little time to actually tackle the detail; i think its the bearings. the sound comes from the front only.

 

It makes it a lot easier for people to help, If newbie's filled out there profile & threw some pics. up! Seem to see this a lot. And the next post to their question, Is what year, engine size, Mods done! It would save other members time, And guess work!............................................. .................................................. ...JMO!
