Default New to the jeep world, tips?

So I bought an 89' XJ a few months ago, its lifted with 33s, bumbers front and rear, stock gears and a rebuilt motor and trans. I had some issues with getting power to the fuel pump and recently got it going good and I want to build it bigger and make it a beast. My brother is building an older toyota and making it a 1 ton. My whole goal with this jeep is to make it eat his toyota in everything.

I deploy to afghanastain in a few months so right now I'm just kind of playing around with it and I'll have my brother get everything I need for it while I'm deployed so I can build it up to what I want it to be when I get home.

I just need some help though. I'm going to try and get everything done to it before I go that would benefit me now and that i'll be able to keep but also just messin around and doing cheap stuff. I've been reading around a lot and tryin to learn as much as I can.

Since I have big plans on it for when I return home I'm just trying different things with it. I have a few questions though. I'd like to be able to fit 35s and I've seen a few people take leaf springs from other trucks and put them on the jeep. What could I use to do that? With the front what would I have to do? Would I just have to put bigger coils? Building my own long arm kit, would it be hard or would I be better off just ordering a long arm kit?

While I'm home I'm just going to be putting it together with stuff that I'm going to keep when I get back. I just ordered some gears, steering stabilizer and the supplies to build a new tie rod so I can ditch the stock one. I'm just trying to do cheap stuff and build up my skills a little bit. Any suggestions would help on what to do. I'm trying to get all the expensive stuff done before I get married in a few months bc my fiance tells me I'm dumb for buying this jeep, so as long as we aren't married and shes still back in my home town I'm trying to knock out as much as possible before she can stop me.
