Might of missed it but what was the actual code? Even if the code isn't there anymore a shop can check history codes to see what it was. And if the jeep sat for a while why he was selling it, it could of had a lot of condensation in the fuel, causing even more of a issue. Thats agreat jeep with LOWWWWWW miles. we can't even find one around here with under 150k, in pa. The one we bought was a 94zj with 215k on it. Runs awsome, paid 900 for it, and NO RUST!!

A day later i was driving and noticed my "check engine" light had come on. Low and behold i believe i am yet another victim of the "heat soak" issue as it only happens when i drive on the highway, park it, and come back soon and try and start it up again.

I did some searching on here and now have a better understanding of whats going on, and hopefully some fixes for it. Hopefully these XJ's can live up to their name, i was a HUGE fan of these and heard nothing but good things about them, go figures i finally find one i cant live with out and it may be a lemon. Anyways enough ranting.
It cost 7 buks to fix.. You have to wrap injector 3 in a heat shield sold by teh dealer. Crhrysler has a Technical Service Bulliten in it.. I change everything until I found that out! its a 7 dollar fix.. Its only in 2000 and 2001 cherokees due to movement of the manifold to close to injectors causing vaporization of fuel.. Throws a misfire code Cylander 3.. It fixed mine!
