Default New jeep help!

So i just bought an 01 xj with 180k all i know is most of the top of the motor has been replaced. But unknowing what all was done what should i replace first before i start building. Beside spark plugs, wires, belts, oil change what else would be a good recommendations on replacement

I say drive it first. It's a pretty quick way to figure out what needs attention and what doesn't.

Driving it, either before or after any service it needs, will let you know how loose the steering linkage is ( like mine !) specially on a windy day....

It's an 01. If we're starting a forum pool, I get "head crack".

I sure wouldn't go shotgunning stuff without at least a cursory inspection. Fluids, sure. Everything else inspect and then decide. How else would you know what parts were replaced and what service performed right before you got it? No point in replacing perfectly good stuff.

True. An im not sure why the top is pretty much new. I bought it from a guy i used to work for and im having him install my lift and stuff but he didnt have a lot of info on what was truely replaced

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge before you start getting really attached to it. Usually, peeps don't catch the fact that the cylinder head has cracked, and the motor is trash by the time they find out.
