How the *#@$ do I get the hood latch cable grommet in the firewall? I can't seem to get the damn thing pushed in the hole. I tried some handsoap to help out but I just can't contort my arm in there enough to get enough leverage/pushing power. I know the hood release cable is a common issue. Can anyone tell me how they did it. I'm about to say screw it and put some silicone or a little bit of that expanding foam insulation.

needle nose or screw driver,,,push it through lightly and then use the needle nose under the hood to give a little tub...just put a new one in last week

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Did you lube it up with anything?
