Default New here i got a couple questions

Hopefully someone can help me. I just bought a 1986 AMC cherokee from a guy who put a 4.0L swap from a 88 cherokee. Problem is it started but died then it drove and such but out of nowhere lights out dies. no choking or anything. So i replaced the Idel control quit doing it as bad then yesturday started dieing and have trouble starting. replaced fuel filter and no change. This morning i go start it and nothing lights turn on so not battery hear fuel pump so i dont think its that .wont even turn over turn the key and nothing maybe starter or spark plugs or brain. Dont know what to do now. Dont have much money because i was told nothing was wrong. Also has a problem turning when it was running. Would coast then turn the wheel and it stops both ways. have to gas it just to turn and it like peels out. dunno what that is either. Please HELP thanks
