Default New guy....First question.

How yall doing? Apparently I joined this forum a few years ago but I don't remember. Anyway, I just bought a 96 XJ and have a question.

There is a little rubber bushing that connects the 4wd shift lever to the shift arm . I don't know what this bushing is called, therefore I cannot find it online. Does anyone know what it's called?

If it rattles or has play in it the dealer actually has a "rebuild kit" for that linkage. I went to the dealer to ask I think the same question you have and they seemed to know all about it.

Welcome to the forum. (Again lol) you can go to the auto parts store and in the Help! section you can buy a pack of shifter bushings.

Little update on the bushings. I ended up ordering them online but they haven't arrived yet. I was tired of not having 4wd so I took the shift rod out, drilled a hole in either end, then reinstalled it with a washer and cotter pin on each side to keep it from popping out. Works like a charm now.
