New flame paint job
I don't like to see people getting dumped on around here. There are plenty of "other" places for that, IMHO!! Healthy debates, disagreements, and differences in opinion, are what make this place entertaining, no dumping allowed though!! Take care!!
I think you could have taped the flames up a little nicer without so many jagged edges and taken a bit more time to do it. I like the idea personally, of having the ghost flames. I was thinking of doing street rod style scallops on my XJ once it was done and I repainted it Cobalt Blue... but I'd leave that up to the body shop doing the painting.
Let people breath a little bit around here Moderators... good lord. Family site or not... let people have an opinion. We're all big boys. If we don't like what someone says to us, we'll have to hop in our XJ and come on over to your house and put an old school whoopin down on ya. Simple as that.
Let the boys be boys.
End of my rant.

Everyone has an opinion, like it or not. That's part of freedom of speech. Unfortunately the moderators of this forum only wants to here the "make me feel warm and fuzzy" comments and never any constructive critism or even a "I disagree with what you're doing" comment...

over your I paid some one to do it for me flames
I've done plenty of work on my own rig but not owning a body shop or having the proper spray guns, down draft booths or EPA permits... I think its best to let that up to the experts.

So let me give you guys a little bit of history to the paint job on my XJ. When I bought it the drivers door was tan the hatch was black and the rest was burgandy and rust. So I went to a paint shop picked up some 2 in 1 paint and clear coat. The guy I worked with at the time said he could paint so I trusted him. We did a decent job but I never buffed out the orange peel cause I really didn't care cause it was all one color. Well after wheeling in Florida and Wa. I had scratched the crap out of the sides. So these "flames" are an improvement over dealing with rust and countless scratches.

If I had more fender to work with I would have tried to make the flames more pronounced and less like waves. I will take some more pic's tomorrow without all of the glare. Hell I might do the hood next

hey i herculined my whole balzer inside and out, it held up really good, the best part about it was after mudding with the top and doors off i could drive it into the self car wash and pressure wash the **** out of the inside, since everything but the seats was herculined and they dried off in the sun
