New Engine
Hi there CherokeeForum,
I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a company that sells new 4.0 Jeep engines for my 98 Sport.
I am in Australia, and understand the shipping cost and complexity, but if anyone has a company that do new ones for me to have a look at anyway.
I saw a company ( here in AUS ) advertising a 4.0 long block 242 stroked to a 4.7.
Anyone seen something like this, and how do they go?

Howdy...I'm no help with a supplier. (my local JY has a nice rebuilt though!)....Yes, the 4.7 stoker is done. If I have it right it's a misnomer....stroke is the same but it's bored with bigger pistons. I guess once you "go there" you can look at up-sizing everything else. (throttle body, exhaust ect). Best of luck to you!

New rebuild with warranty is fine.
I found a company with the 4.7 strocker for around $5000 AUD.
My 98 sport has a few more miles then Id like, so i was looking for a brand new, but I understand that comes from Chrysler (which would probably be way overpriced).
Does anyone know of a supplier of the 4.0 with low miles?
cheers

If you want to keep it stock, search for "remanufactured engines." Or have you considered having your original engine rebuilt by a machine shop?
