Default New Cylinder head purchase (where)

Well i beleive my 0331 head has officially been cracked. Loosing coolant and my oil pressure is less than normal. So time for a new head. Can anybody point me in the right direction? I think i need the 0630 casting (96-97). It doesnt have the bosses for the coil pack but i dont think thats a big deal.

Alabama cylinder head or St Petersburg cylinder head are mentioned alot on the Forum. Make sure you don't drive it with the bad head or you'll wind up with zero oil pressure and more problems.

If you have one near you autozone and pepboys both sell new heads, otherwise. I would suggest buying a junkyard hear and having it rebuilt which would actually probably save you some green.

here is the link to alabama's head

https://www.alabamacylinderhead.com/...ail.php?id=109

On the clearwater site you're looking at a used 0331 head. It shows the exact description at below the picture. You're probably better off, as far as I can tell, with this one

Ok so im looking at close to 600-700 with the gaskets and new head bolts. I might be better off getting a junkyard engine from a 98 or something.

I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy!

ya get one from a Junkyard.

also the 2002-2004 head from a WJ or TJ is good and comes with the proper mounting points for a coil pack.

Just my 2 cents.

Muskegon eh? You have a 2000... Any issues with coolant disappearing yet?

I was under the the impression that the 0331 heads were on all 4.0 from 1999.5-2006.. That would be cool if i could find one with the coil pack mounts that wasnt the 0331.
