Angry New catalytic converter...no o2 input

Like a genius, I just cut off my old, rattling cat. I've noticed two things: 1, the new cat is shorter than the old one and doesn't reach the muffler; 2, there is no place to hook up my O2 sensor.

What now?

O2 simulator or try drilling a hole in your pipe and thread one in. Not sure if that'll work, don't think the metal is thick enough. You could always get some appropriately sized exhaust piping and just clamp them on the ends of the catalytic converter to make it long enough.

Take it back, exchange it for a cat with the O2 bung. If it's still too short, get a piece of patch pipe and clamp(s). All the parts stores have it.

Worst that will happen is a CEL. Downstream O2 does not effect engine performance.
