Default New Calipers and Wheel Cylinders- Need to bleed ABS?

Hi all,

I recently purchased a 99 XJ for my wife. It't the 2nd XJ i've owned. The brake system has been pretty neglected over the years. I'm planning on new wheel cylinders and calipers. Do you think I will need to take it to the dealer to have the ABS module bled when I'm done? I know it's pretty common to remove the ABS system, but I would rather not do that.

Thanks!

I have not ever bled my ABS system (supposedly dealer only).

I have no scientific evidence for what my practice is, but I bleed them as normal, then drive the vehicle and deliberately activate the ABS. My shade tree theory is this will cycle the fluid through the ABS manifold. Does it work? I have no idea. Does it make me feel better? Yep.

I like having the ABS, so I'm not removing it.
