New 99 XJ Owner Here Have a few issues..
Just got a new xj tonight first one ever. Its a 99 sport with 127,000 on her. I paid 3800.00 its a one owner. Got it from a dealer with a few issues. Please give me some feedback. I'm very mechanical so all work will be done myself.
1. A/C doesnt blow cold could just need recharged not a huge issue now.
2. ABS light was on now its off. And the back passenger brake is rubbing. Very hot and you can smell it.
Other than that she goes down the road straight runs great. Has the overhead console with mileage and compass and trip outside temp gauge. Also has power front seat. How rare are theseoptions. I havent seen them on any while I was searching the past couple weeks.
so let the mods begin LOL....
I am also on the polaris RZR.net Forum and the powerstroke.org forums. Both under user name Uppie89.
Thanks up front for any and all help.

Welcome to CF! To answer your questions:
1. The A/C systems can be finicky on XJ's. I'd recommend you do a leak test and go from there if you really want to keep it. If you could care less about A/C, rip it out and prep your rig for an on-board-air system.
2. Since you're getting an on again/off again ABS light, you have the "joy" of having a c-clip Dana 35 rear axle. Let me be the first to say, awesome that you have ABS, but I'm sorry you have the D35. They're not as good as the standard 29 spline 8.25's. Based on the symptoms you gave, it sounds like you have some VERY worn rear shoes and drums and it's causing your ABS sensor to go off. Replace the drums, shoes, and hardware and you should be good to go.
Hope this helps!

usually it's the wires running from the dash into the doors. They tend to get crimped due to the constant opening/closing of the doors.

both my front speakers in the doors don't work anymore, I have already torn down passenger side door to replace window clip when it broke with this product (http://www.steigerperformance.com/) and that's when I realized my speakers didn't work. So what do you all recommend fixing or upgrading to the speakers?

im going doorless in the summer so i decided to do away with the front door speakers bc my drivers side door speaker goes in and out.. im building a custom sound bar just behind the driver and passenger seats for the same 5 in speakers in the rear sound bar..
