Never seen this happen...
So I noticed the parking lights on the front of the Jeep were different in color. The passenger side was almost white while the driver side was a faded yellow. No biggie, right? Well I got the bulbs and switched the passenger side out, which had lost all of the yellow coating, and then went to the driver side......not happening. The socket and bulb are just laying in the housing...not connected/twisted into place. The reasoning being that the socket is 100% rusted out. The rust is so bad that the buld is permenately mounted in the socket. I can't even determine the bulb from the socket as the metal looks to have all rusted into one blob. I ordered a new socket from some auto parts warehouse and I guess I need to splice this new socket in. Anyone ever had this issue? Oh, and of course in the process the turn signal filament broke so now I have th lit up turn signal on the dash and the awesome crack head speed turn signal syndrome.

I had one of the brake lights in the rear like that... the bulb was completely rusted into the socket, and there was no removing it. Had to get a nicer one out of a junkyard XJ and splice it in.
