neutral safety switch?

Default neutral safety switch?

so i got a trans from a 2000 cherokee from a junkyard and i took it to the trans shop to get it put in my 93 jeep cherokee and they said that the newer trans is a top mount nss position and the 93 has a side mount.....is there any way to bypass it or sumthing....please help

well your shop is retarded. The NSS is always on the side of the AW-4. A 2000 AW4 tranny is no different than a 1993 AW4 tranny

WRONG!

1998-2001 trans has (2) VSS. 1997 and later the TCU has to be flashed by the dealer for the year of vehicle.

IIRC, 1992-1996 trans should swap right in. 1997 needs the harness rewired but can use the 1996 type trans.

If you think the AW4s are the same, check out the threads where guys bought NEW trans (Quadratec comes to mind) and found that the NEW trans they bought was leftover 1996 and couldn't be adapted to 1998 and later.

perhaps I should have clarified that better...the NSS position is no different on a 2000 AW4 than it is on a 93 AW4.
