Got smoother throttle response, smoother idle, and better gas mileage. Power wasn't noticable. I thought the 2.0 was shorter than the injectors from the 2.4?

I'm considering this upgrade like everyone else...just a couple stupid questions about it: 1) how hard is it and are there any writeups for step by step on here (searched tech and didn't find one) 2) will this work on the later versions on the 4.0 in a TJ motor?
Although the Cherokee isn't a daily driver, I've got Dixie Run coming up and don't need to screw up something that works fine as is..just doing the mod if I can make it a little better and it's not all that bad, then why not right?

thanks

Sure am glad I joined this forum... we have a 1996 Cherokee with the 4.0 and two 90's Dodge Neon... and two spare engines sitting in the garage! Heck, they don't need the injectors, right?

I know this thread is old but a guy came over and said that he did the swap and had a huge power difference. he con tuned to tell me that before it wouldn't really do a burnout then he did the swap and had them tires turning like it was nothing and had great fuel milage but what i don't understand is would you loose fuel pressure because now your dumping more fuel and i wonder if it would make a difference to run a bigger fuel pump?

You are not using significantly more fuel with the Neon injectors. The benefit comes from spraying the same amount of fuel through the four smaller holes in four very fine streams rather than one large stream. The improved atomization (breaking the fuel in small particles) helps it burn more efficiently and completely. Hence better mileage, power, and emissions.

Did the 703 swap and 99+ intake manifold at the same time. Noticed a bit of power increase but mostly better throttle response and the jeep runs smoother. Definitely worth it.

This might help too,

From 95-05 neons only had 1.4 , 1.6 , 2.0. From 03-05 the srt4 had the 2.4.
So do we need the srt4 investors? Cause they are impossible to find used.

I got mine from a couple minivans. They seem to be easier to get to in the minivans (not to mention that there are a ton more dodge/chrysler/plymouth minivans than neons in the JY.
98 and down need the 703's
99 and up need the 784's
You cand fine one of those injectors in just about every Chrysler product from the mid 90's til now. The easiest way to get them is to just start digging. Don't be so picky about what year/model of car you are looking for. In my experience - the 4 cyl models are most likely to have the 703's and 784's. Most of the 6 cyl engines seem to have the same injectors as the XJ's.

If you can't find Neon 703's a nice alternative is Bosch 715's found in Mustangs and Crown Vic's with a 5.0l, I ran them for a year till I came across some 703's.
