I hear he can zap bad grounds from orbit, and also was once seen coming down some hill with stone tablets that said "Jeep Corp" on the front!
Chad, don't let anyone put you off! There is help here. If Cruiser suggests you adjust the new TPS, that's probably a good way to go. Your TCU is under the glove box and has a fuse there near it on the harness. You might want to check that and unplug/replug the trans control unit there. If you click on my signature you will find a deal there on that as well as some other handy stuff. Let us know how it goes. I haven't needed to mess with my TPS, but If I did I know I could get help here.
OH! Hey, we were both posting at the same time.

These are what I have http://autoplicity.com/products/2074...3_5_w_bus.aspx
Almost $100 cheaper than anywhere else I could find them. 4wheelparts honors the price match on these as well, I picked them up at my local 4wheelparts for $107.65 and didn't have to pay shipping.

This may help with the trans shifting issues:
Cruiser’s Trans Plug Refreshing
Over near the transmission dipstick tube are 2 rather large connectors. One is black and the other gray. These 2 connectors carry all the info between TPS, TCU, NSS, speed sensor, and transmission solenoids.
Unplug each one, visually inspect for corrosion or bent pins, spray them out with electrical contact cleaner and plug them back in.
Additionally, if your Jeep is an 87 to 90 Renix, it’s always a good idea to reach up under the glovebox area and unplug the connector to the TCU and spray it out along with the receptacle of the TCU. While you’re there, find the fuse right in that area for the TCU. Remove it and spray out it’s receptacle and clean any corrosion from the fuse.

AC volts, not ohms. Read the instructions and it's real plain.
Anyway to put this one to bed, Good call Cruiser! (him getting the TPS wet while pressure washing). A little correction, it would be AC volts checking the Renix CPS, but indeed DC for checking the TPS. (and YES, you turn it!)

The fix was replacing the TPS, then replacing it again, and plugging in some wires that the PO had inexplicably disconnected.
Glad you got it going, Chad
