Hey guys, I recently purchased my 3rd Jeep Cherokee I have owned so far.
It's a 1987 Laredo that I got for $900......So I know the price kind of speaks for it self on somethings.
So far the bad...No speedometer and 4x4 not working.
From what I can tell the previous owner tried to do his own posi lock with an air regulated switch. (Please chime in if you have ever seen this)
A. *the Switch*
B. Actuator housing with no lock system?
C. Does there need to be 3 lines connected to the actuator or just the 2 shown?
So far every posi lock research I have done shows you keeping all the original parts in tack but this person didnt do that and I am not sure where to go from here.
Here is the pic from the top of the motor where the black air hose line from the switch connects too.
When i was going through the top of the motor I found some wires and harness just dangling around....Is THIS the other part of the original 4x4 wires?
My other question relates to the speedometer cable.....
I went to my local Napa store and ordered a new cable. When i got home and opened it, it was 58" long. It didn't even come close to same length as mine.
My Jeep does have the cruise control option too, I have been reading that the length is anywhere from 68"-94". I cant seem to find a direct answer to what my length should be with a 5sp cruise control option with NP231 transfer case.
this is what the transfer case end looks like for it.
Any sort of input or help would be appreciated! Thanks!
