That is one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time. I thought it was just a construction yellow jeep tool box and I was gonna be like "put tools in it." and then I saw it was a stereo and was like OH MY GOD KEEP IT!!

Good camping tunes gadget.

Could just get a tape adapter to avoid modifying it too much from "stock" if you're worried about market value.

I'd see how much you could get for it on ebay, or maybe keep it another 50 years and put it on antiques roadshow and make a small fortune.
I wouldn't modify it. Like said above, just get a cassete adapter, or get an fm transmitter that goes into your ipod.

Just use an FM modulator to use your ipod, or plug it in via aux input.
