Default Need some ideas on brakes upgrade

Hello everyone. Got a 1988 Jeep cherokee on 33's. Just replaced the front brakes and rotors as well as the back brakes and the ol' cherokee is still having a hard time stopping. I know a highly recommended upgrade is upgrading to discs in the back but I'm curious if ya'll know of any other upgrades as well. I am really pressed to know about booster or master cylinder upgrades.

Thanks!

This page has lots of good upgrades. If you scroll down about 2/3 of the way you will see a bunch of brake upgrade write-ups

And Should have got drilled and slotted rotors... I use them on my Dodge with 37's and ill never go back... crazy difference... semi-ceramic pads... helps a lot... but yeah run a dual diaphram booster and that will help a lot also... as well as the MC... but you'll have to rework the brake lines... I would if I swaped on my Comanche anyways...

I'm stating to attempt the rear disc brake ZJ conversion and it seems like it's not going to be that hard. I get all of the parts from a wrecked ZJ on craigslist for $125. I'm really hoping it will liven up the brakes, same as your looking for.

all i did was the 97+ dual diaphragm booster upgrade, still have drums in the rear. and i have killer brake power now with 36's and heavy beadlocks.

for the booster upgrade, you'll have to drill out the hole in the pedal rod to a larger diameter and grind the end flat to accept the brake light switch. or you can swap out pedal rods so you keep the shorter stock length rod. the newer booster has a longer rod that will raise the brake pedal slightly.

also, i didn't use a grand cherokee proportioning valve either, i think that's only if you're gonna do the disc swap.

but, i did have to divorce the brake differential block aka proportioning valve body to the earlier stock location, and make up new brake lines to reach. but that was only a couple bucks.

best cheap upgrade i've done. cost less than 30 bucks in total.

Was reading up on the booster swap and read the 95 and 96 is a direct swap and get the aluminum spacer that's with it... I have a 97 parts Jeep and the lines are all different for my 89 Comanche... said screw that LOL...
