Default need some exhaust ideas

I am planning a an upgrade on the exhaust system.
I have a 93 4.0HO thinking to replace from the block back.
I have an idea in my head of it coming out the side, but not sure if it will fit correctly, this will cost more than I ever want to spend for certain.
borla is just one that offers a new manifold and then I need a better cat than stock and I want bigger tube, who has done this?

get a borla or other high strength replacement header then a magnaflow cat 2.5 piping and a super 44 muffler with a 3.5 inch chrome tip out the back...badass.

Default no cat would be nice...BUT

Arizona checks for those things yearly..., the shorter line would make the side exit work tho

Yes it would, that was a complete joke. Not only would your underhood temps be in excess of 300F but you'd have no 02 sensor and your A/F ratio would be screwed. Running no manifold is just a bad ideal....a straight pipe would make alot more sense but those are loud as crap and not exactly legal.

I would have lots of extra room tho.
So the aftermarket headers and manifolds etc have the O2 sensor placement to keep the electrical working?
any other thoughts on how to get it out the side, I like the idea of the anti siphon muffler tip

what are the sizes out of the common aftermarket manifolds?
2.5" 3 " would be nice

I have a 93 HO 4.0 and did a complete exhaust on mine. I replaced the entire tubing from the bottom of the exhaust manifold. I went from the stock 2.25 diameter to 2.5 all the way back. This was nice cuz it got rid of that stupid dimple in the pipe right underneith the headers. I put in a hi flow cat and flowmaster super 44 muffler. This was one of my favorite mods.

just that easy huh, left the factory pipe down and used an expander to bring it out to 2.5"? thanks
any notice of whether it was short enough to come out the side?
the other problem I have is that I dont weld, do the aftermarket mufflers have the hang tab?

I too have a glasspack and agree it sounds meaty, but in vehicle noise is next to nothing. I have a full tail pipe though, and literally all the noise comes right out the tail pipe. standing on either side of the jeep the engine noise is louder than the exhaust at idle.
