I am in the process of replacing the rear drum brakes on my 1992 Cherokee and I have hit a bit of a snag. The new shoes that I purchased have a pin in the rear shoes that the existing ones do not have. The brakes are 10" finned drums on D35.
The pin on the new shoes is located in the area where the existing shoes have a large hole for the auto adjusting lever, shown circled on the pic (sorry it is blurry, I took it with my phone). Pic is from the LH driver's side.
Sooo, my questions are:
Do I have the wrong shoes (I've looked at other sets for the Jeep and they seem to have pins as well)?
Do I have wrong and/or outdated adjusting hardware?
Anyone have any pictures of assembled 10" brakes with pinned shoes?

So, I listed the wrong rearend in the original post. It looks like this thing has a D35, not a C8.25. I don't know if it matters, but I've corrected the original post.

I think you might just have a slightly different adjuster. You could buy a new one. Go to RockAuto and look at their Brake Self Adjuster repair kits and see if you can find one that will work (or get different shoes).
When I looked at your year, it looks like there's a difference between 9 and 10" brake shoes so maybe just check and see what you have on first.
Here's a pic that looks like mine. I've got a D44 rear end but I don't think the brakes are that much different.

I agree with Monaca Yankee you need to remind the parts counter personal that you have 10 inch drums that don’t have a pin they only have a hole for your adjuster lever to hook into; not the normal 9 inch drums that have the pin for the adjuster lever to slip over.

Can't blame the parts counter people. Should always check parts especially before tearing into drum brakes and anything else.
I think the 10" drums were only a police package option, identifiable by the cooling fins. Not sure how wide the 10" shoes are, but they should be 1.75"~2" because I know the 9" shoes are wider (2.5" I believe).
Ugh I hate everything about drums. Finally switched to discs this weekend.
