Recently got a new bosch water pump... defective (do'h) are there any suggested brands to look for/ avoid? They all seem to be all around the same price range. I tend to have the worst freaking luck with parts.

Was the Bosch pump under warranty????? Nobody guarantees u won't get a bad part....but a warranty guarantees u won't have to pay additional money when/if the part goes bad.

Yeah, I put a NAPA reman on mine and it's fine. NAPA also has new ones available, if you want to spend the extra coin.

Again, nothing will guarantee a part will not be bad.

Right. Any part of any brand can go bad any time lol. Im just looking to see if some ppl have had any good / bad experiences with any particular brands to prevent driving back and forth to parts stores exchanging.

There will always be both - those having good and those having bad experiences with whatever part (including oil filters ).

I got mine from NAPA, don't recall the name but it was ~$45 and it's worked perfectly.

I usually just use some sort of gasket adhesive or sealer to hold the gasket to the water pump for ease of installation.
