A lot of it is there arent many good SC out there for the 4.0. The quality ones out there are usually extremely high dollar and at that point you may aswell just build a stroker or the like.

From my limited knowledge there is a bit of lag until they become beneficial which wouldnt really help us crawlers.

turbos start kicking in at about 3k revs. so on the wheeling world that means under 3k revs , a turbo wont help, a supercharger in the other hand takes the charge of the belt, and well it adds power in all revs... better for crawling..

turbos do have a bit of lag but if you know what you are doing when putting a system together and the new advacements inthe industery the lag is just about gone. i dealwith them everyday in semi trucks and it is amazing how far they have come in the past 10 years or so

Superchargers are the way to go but as mentioned they are a little pricey.

Both are required I think.

I like the Hemi's. But the 4.7 HO's are way more plentiful and cheaper to boot.

Strokers sound like fun. Do they give any better mpg ?

lol I couldn't bring myself to put a motor in that costs more then the entire jeep did..lol $3500 is a ton of cash for a motor for a recreational vehicle that makes you no money..If it was a jeep speed or something that was raced I'd say go for it..
