Question Need more lift

I have the RC 4.5 lift. I was wheelin and drove over some rocks. the rear tire rubbed and pushed in my rear fender and also cracked my tail light. Im running 265/70r16 bfg ats. I want a few more inches without buying a new lift kit. Any suggestions.

Install bumpstops. They prevent uptravel so the tires don't contact fenders.

put blocks in the front. and then a shackle on the back would give you some more lift.

I wonder if his RC kit already has shackles? If not, check out RC's shackles. I just installed them two days ago. $52 shipped from roughcountry.com.

2" budget boost if you put new leaf packs on with your lift...

If you already have 4.5 inches of lift, you could run into problems with your LP D30. I don't have one, so I can't offer experiences that I've had, but it does have a lower pinion. You can trim a little, tastefully, and still look good without more lift, and potentially more problems. HTH!!

yeah either bumpstop or trim. going higher isnt always the answer. remember that the higher you go, the higher your COG is and the more likely it is to roll.

Nah and LP D30 is the front axle you have..basically it's a Dana 30 front axle with low pinion...Where as older D30's had HP meaning High Pinion...That is if what I have read is correct and I am sure someone will either correct me or confirm..

Correct. High pinion and Low pinion. Newer xj's have low pinions and run into vibe problems at higher lift heights.

If you have a low pinion dana 30 axle as you say, that could be the issue. What you need to do is pinpoint the problem first by unbolting the front driveshaft (8 little bolts) and then taking it for a spin. If the vibes are not there anymore, then it's the angles from the driveshaft.
