Ok so I am changing tie rods...I have the draglink all installed as it should be and new stabilizer so that went great..My issue atm is this...I can not get the old TRE's to twist off the tie rod... Any suggestions on getting this done? THis is all I have left to have it done..been trying to work and watch the darn OU game and it's slowing me down..

Sry the torch thing has always worked for me but since you have none it is just going to take brute force to get the TRE loose.

Have a bench vice and a pipe wrench? Most vice will have jaws that will accept round tube, this should hold the tierod tight enough to allow a pipe wrench to remove the ends.

My ZJ upgrade made quite a bit of difference in the frontend and steering. Great upgrade. Between that and the double diaphram brake booster upgrade I feel like I'm driving a new XJ.

I found the DD booster upgrade on another forum and bought it with master cylinder and new brake lines to the proportioning valve for $100 shipped. So it took about an hour to install. Now the Jeep stops and it would never do it that easy before. You had to anticipate about 4 car lengths ahead, now it is 1.5 car lengths.

Nice did you buy the booster and all off this site? I would love to find a site where I could get a DD booster, master cylinder and lines for my jeep without doing any mods..

No it came from a Yahoo groups site og Renix guys. Their site is hard to follow but I just lucked up on that thing. In fact it is the only thing I have ever noticed for sale. The site is run by 5-90.

Why not save the money and pick up the ZJ steering parts at the JY?

B/C you would still need TREs and it feels good to have all new parts. ZJ stuff is expensive from my local J/Y and I would have spent more if I needed to replace the TREs too. It was $150 at the J/Y here Stryker.

Damn... Ya'll need a pull-a-part. Just pull the whole assy but leave it together and say you are buying the drag link 15 bucks and your done!!!

They always have women at the counter that don't know sh**.
